The first thing you see when you enter Heaven - before you enter it, really - are the Gates. Guarded by some of the oldest and most loyal angels, the golden gates stand open to accept those who enter Heaven; they are closed in times of trouble, when they are barricaded against intruders. Loitering is not often encouraged here.
