It was a little chilly out today, and the ground was a little damp from a previous rainstorm, but the sky was now an innocent baby blue with just a few wispy clouds. Sighing, the blue-eyed angel pouted and curled up more on the park bench he was sitting up, nodding his head along to the song currently playing from his iPod. A hand reached up, gently playing with the angel wing necklace hanging around his neck. He'd seen it in a store a few weeks ago, and it had just reminded him of Bailey, so he'd bought it without even thinking and hadn't taken it off since then. Thinking about his twin cousin made the angel frown, a ball of sorrow forming in his chest. Oh, how he missed his best friend! But it was for a good reason that she was alive and he had died. It was because of him that Bailey was still alive and well - at least, that he knew of, and that he hoped. If he hadn't jumped into the road and pushed her out of the way of that car... He didn't even want to think about it. Having her dead would have been so much worse than him dying. She'd always been able to deal with death and disasters better than he had. The 'stronger twin' in a way. Sighing, a small smile flickered over his lips and he allowed his legs to dangle over the edge of the bench, humming along sadly to the Adam Lambert song currently playing. Now normally, he didn't listen to slow songs, but he didn't feel like bouncing around all alone right now. He needed a friend, that's what he needed, but he wasn't sure if there were other angels around here, or if he was allowed to be friends with humans. Were there rules to this whole angel thing? Hopefully, an older angel would come along and explain this all to him.

The dark haired angel pulled his dark hoodie closer around his slender body, wanting the cold weather to go away so he could just wear short sleeves. Not that he had a problem with his many multi-colored hoodies and jackets, he just loved wearing his florescent tops. A crooked smile appeared on his face as his brain wandered to what he had in his closet and the outfits that he could pick out... Ahhh, the endless possibilities. A squeak exited his body as one of the concrete blocks in the sidewalk came up and tripped the teenager. Able to catch himself before he did a face plant and needed facial reconstruction, he straightened up and cleared his throat, acting like nothing had happened. Though before walking away he shot the side walk an evil glare, telling it to watch it’s back for messing with Jason. He rolled his shoulders, trying to relax his body that was now pumped up filled with adrenaline. Taking deep breaths, he eyed the side walk to make sure that no more surprises would be encountered. In that short, embarrassing ordeal Jason had completely forgot where his final destination was. However, he hadn’t realized that yet.
As the thought popped up in his mind, the young looking boy bit his lip, his brows furrowing as he struggled to remember his destination. Oh why was he born with the worst memory on the planet? Maybe he had written it on his hand! His gray blue eyes looked down eagerly, rolling up his sleeves and looking around for any ink that looked new. His arms were covered in different color sharpie marks, some still legible and some fading away. Because of everything that Jason forgot, he had come up with this amazing system to write things down on his arms to make sure that he wouldn’t forget and if he did he simply had to look down and remember. A grin crossed his features as the parks name loomed up at him in bright pink sharpie. “Aha!” He exclaimed triumphantly, totally not remembering when he wrote that on his arm but who cared? At least he had a system! Running his hand through his hair, he continued on his quest to actually arrive at the park before forgetting again.
The sign was very welcoming, letting Jason know that he had come to the right place. Finally, for once he hadn’t gotten side-tracked by something shiny and had totally forgotten where he was going, forced to go back home. Gray blue gaze looked around as he entered the park, loving the beauty of everything and how all the leaves looked with little drops of water on them from the day before. It was absolutely beautiful, making Jason wish he had brought a camera. He could take pictures with his phone, but the pixels weren’t very high so it wouldn’t really capture the moment. A small sigh exited his chest as he struggled to memorize every tiny detail of the beautiful foliage. His neck craned as he looked up, loving the canopy of trees that covered him, not seeing the bench that he was approaching and completely tripping down the length of it. Jason’s breath came out in an, “Oof!” As he landed on something warm. He squealed, thinking it was a homeless person, rolling over and onto the wet ground, trying desperately to get to his feet before he got killed. Hopping up and getting into a karate stance, he blew his bangs out of his eyes, his hands going to his hips in an annoyed manner as they plopped themselves right back into his eyes again. Hastily pushing them out of his face he blinked, wondering where the homeless person had gone. Instead there was a very sexy person sitting and listening to his music. “Hi!” Jason said, bouncing on his toes as he clasped his hands behind his back as if he was a kid about to get scolded. “Sorry I landed on you. I was looking up and forgot to look down and well.. here I am!” He giggled, looking down and realizing how much dirt he had on him before busying himself with wiping it off.

This whole being alone thing kinda sucked. A lot. He was a people person, very social, and had always hated being alone. That had to be part of this stupid, silly depression thing he had going on, because when he was around people, he was never ever ever depressed. The only time he'd ever been really depressed before was when he'd had his heart broken by the guy. Just thinking about it made his heart ache and, tired of this silly sadness, Mateo pushed the memories away to think about at some more appropriate time. Probably when he was all alone, because he was always alone now, now that he was dead and didn't know where Bailey was and had no friends because he didn't know his way around here yet. Huffing in annoyance, he pouted again and moved so he was no longer curled up on the bench, but instead was sitting normally. A few strands of soft, black hair fell into his eyes and he sighed, leaning back against the bench and looking up at the sky, his foot tapping along to the song playing. Gosh, he hated being alone. It just didn't fit his personality to be alone.
And that's when some random dude fell out of the sky and landed on top of him. Okay, so maybe he didn't fall out of the sky - though that would have been awesome - but he did fall on top of him. Flailing, Mateo squealed and quickly pulled his headphones off, the music able to be heard playing faintly from them. Some Avenged Sevenfold song. He blinked down at the boy in his lap, not angry or annoyed or anything, just amused and happy to finally have someone to talk to. He giggled, smiling cutely up at the stranger and bouncing a little on the bench, able to push the sadness away for a little while. "You're hair and eyes are so pretty!" he said, giving a nod as he watched the other male. “Hi!” At the greeting, the angel smiled more and waved, bouncing excitedly on the bench. “Sorry I landed on you. I was looking up and forgot to look down and well.. here I am!” Giggling again, Mateo shrugged, bouncing quickly to his feet and nearly falling over himself. Two clumsy boys, what could possibly go wrong? "It's all good, yo!" he grinned, sticking out his hand for a handshake, his British accent as obvious as ever. "I'm Mateo and we should be friends because I'm lonely and I hate being lonely."

The dark haired angel couldn’t remember the last time that he had been to the beautiful park. Then again it could have only been yesterday. The poor angel had the memory of a toothpick, whatever memory a toothpick had. A giggle erupted from the angel’s chest as he thought of a toothpick running around forgetting everything because it had no brain. Like that scarecrow from the Wizard of Oz! Jason sighed as he remembered that movie, wishing that he had it so he could watch it and sing along to all the songs. When he was little he remembered watching that movie with his family, having a movie night and chomping on the popcorn while cuddling on the couch. Then he became a whole different person in his teen years and he never got to cuddle on the cough with his parents after what he apparently had done to them. Though Jason didn’t think that following his heart was any reason to be punished, though his parents wanted to keep a strict hold on him which the dark haired teenager wouldn’t allow. Jason was the type to go his own way and not let anything bring him down to anyone’s level but his own.
Gray blue eyes looked the male sitting in front of him up and down, a small smile crossing his face as he realized how obvious he was being. A blush crossed his cheeks as he plopped himself down on the bench next to the black haired teenager, wondering who he was and why Jason hadn’t met him before. Usually the teenager knew everyone in the town by face, then again he wasn’t surprised whenever he came across a new face.. or a face that he had forgotten. However, Jason definitely would have remembered this lovely person’s face, since he was just drop dead gorgeous. The young boy was having trouble focusing on anything but that. Jason couldn’t remember the last time he had actually been struck to silence by someone’s beauty. Yes, beauty. Though you could always add sexy to the list also if you wanted, it definitely fit. Jason grinned as the other boy squealed, getting caught up in the action. Though Jason couldn’t help but lean forward to listen to what song the other male was listening to, recognizing it but not able to hear it well enough to identify the song itself.
About to say something about the song, Jason was interrupted by the stranger’s statement about his eyes, which caused another blush to cross his cheeks as he looked down at his feet, not able to hide the idiotic grin on his face. “You’re eyes are prettier.” The angel mumbled as he dared to look up at the fierce blue eyes of the stranger. They were definitely the first things that Jason noticed about the male, besides the fact that he was incredibly attractive. Jason giggled as the stranger waved enthusiastically to him, retaliating with his own energetic wave. Jason chuckled as Mateo stood up, following the black haired teen’s lead and giggling as he almost fell down. “Yes! You’re not going to kill me.” Jason gave a crooked smile, fist pumping the air in his victory. Jason stuck his own hand out to the other boy, giving a joyous grin as the two shook hands, not letting go of the other boy’s hand for a good thirty seconds. “It’s lovely to meet you mister Mateo!! I’m Jason. By the way your British accent is simply adorable.” An eyebrow raised as Mateo mentioned that he was lonely. “Lonely? Well then I shall be your company!!” A grin crossed his face as he nodded vigorously at the being friends statement, “Being friends sounds good!! So how are you Mateo on his fine day?” Jason giggled again as he rocked back and forth on the balls of his feet.

The sadness over not being able to find Bailey lingered, but with this rather handsome and delicious looking boy in front of him, Mateo found himself smiling instead of crying. It wasn't healthy to be sad all the time, and it wasn't in his nature to be sad for very long, so he was grateful that this steamer had decided to just fall out of the sky and into his lap. He sighed quietly, humming as he looked the other male over. There was something about him... An energy, perhaps? Whatever it was, Mateo had a feeling that this guy was an angel as well and though he was upset that someone so good looking and adorable had had to die, he was glad that they had met up. Maybe it was God's way of saying everything would be okay? If there were angels, there had to he a God, right? He'd never been a super religious person, his family had gone to church for Easter and Christmas and stuff like that, and he'd had a few friends back home that were Catholics, but he himself had never gotten into the whole thing.
Giggling as he noticed that the maybe-angel was checking him out, Mateo struck a goofy pose, not at all bothered by how obvious the nameless male was being. Reaching a hand up, he gently touched the other's cheek, thinking about how adorable he looked with that blush. Maybe he was being a little forward, reaching out and just gently touching someone's face, but Mateo had always been that way. Not that he threw himself at everyone, because that was the complete opposite of what he did. Rather, he would just hold hands with a complete stranger or give a date a quick, cute kiss on the lips on the first date. He didn't see anything wrong with it, and would respect anyone that told him to slow down, not that he really moved that fast, he just liked showing affection. Cuddling up watching a movie was just as good a date to him as going out to some expensive restaurant.
"What kinda music you listen too?" he asked curiously, "I can't really sing, Bailey was always the singer, but I can do growls and screams and shit. Oh! And I play a ton of instruments. Guitar, drums, bass, trumpet - you name it, I probably play it!" He always had been proud of his musical talent, and today was no exception. In fact, back when he was still alive as a regular human, he'd been in a band. The Peed On Fluffy Bunnies. Ah, such great memories! They'd never gotten far with it, not that they'd planned on it, but the band had been super fun and entertaining. "Pff, my eyes are not prettier! Yours are, like... Like... the sky! And the ocean! THEY BE BEAUTIFUL!" He nodded, making a serious face, though he could only hold back his giggles for so long. It felt good to laugh again. Their eyes met, and this time, Mateo found himself blushing, the giggling increasing and his smile widening.
The air was filled with innocent giggling from the two boys as they exchanged waves, standing with smiles on their faces, and Mateo just found himself feeling so... happy. He hadn't been happy in so long. "Angels don't kill, silly," he shrugged, winking at the other male, wondering if he could possibly also be an angel. How cool would that be? Meeting another angel without even trying too! Oh, it just seemed too good to be true, but he could wish, couldn't he? He bit his lip, reluctant to pull his hand away from the simple handshake, and only when Jason released his hand did Mateo return it to his side. "A lot of people tell me that. It is pretty awesome, isn't it?" he beamed, not at all offended by having his accent mentioned. He was much too happy to be offended by anything this Jason guy said or did! It just felt great to have a friend again. "Well, now that you're here, this day is absolutely fabulous!" he teased, wondering just how far he could take this whole flirting and friendliness thing. "How is your day so far? I hope it's great, and that I can make it better!"

Being an angel, Jason found it hard to believe that he was even able to trip. After all, weren’t angels supposed to be holy beings? And weren’t holy beings supposed to be super special? And weren’t super special people not supposed to trip? Jason had no clue, but he knew that his body was the same as it was as when he was alive. He was exactly the same, which was slightly confusing because he hadn’t really thought he would be angel material. Hell, he thought he was going to go to hell just because he had disrespected his parents. Though he had a legitimate reason to, they were being unreasonable, and that was a good excuse right? Apparently it was, since he was sitting here, an angel and still the same exact way that he was. Was this beautiful being standing in front of him an angel? Jason found it hard to believe that he wasn’t just because of how holy he looked. With the glossy black hair and the bright, gorgeous blue eyes. He was just going to assume that he was, because he seemed angel-like. Maybe in a minute or two, he would pluck up the courage to ask.
As Jason realized that Mateo totally knew he was checking him out, his blush got deeper, wondering if he should apologize for being so obvious. As Mateo struck a silly pose, Jason giggled, knowing that he didn’t mind as much as Jason thought that he was going to. As Mateo’s hand gently touched his cheek, it was almost like his heart exploded as it tripped into a faster speed. Was it possible for his blush to get even deeper than it already was? Jason had no idea, but he did feel even more blood rush into the cheek that had the fingertips on it. Jason almost wondered if his face was a maroon color, or if his cheeks could explode from how much blood was rushing into it. A small crooked smile appeared on Jason’s face as he leaned slightly into Mateo’s hand, liking the feel of his soft fingers on his cheek. Maybe it was slightly inappropriate for him to do so, to feel what he was feeling based on a simple touch on his face, but Jason had never really been in charge of his emotions. Rather, they tended to run his life instead of the other way around.
“Me? I listen to anything really, except screamo screamo. I can handle a little screamo, but not full out high pitch squealing. Low screaming is sexy though.” Jason grinned, trying to relay what he was thinking to Mateo, not sure how to put what he meant into actual words. “Ooo screaming and growling is hoooott! I- really?! Oh my god, you’re so multi talented. I might have to make you teach me how to play some instruments.” Jason chuckled, not really being the musical talented type. He had always wished to be the lead singer in some sort of band, but he knew that wasn’t going to happen. And it was way to dangerous for an angel to get mixed up in things that could become famous. Before he knew it he could be known by everyone in the world and he didn’t age at all. That could definitely be a problem. “Oh goodness, they totally are!! Pshaw. You’re are like, can’t even compare them to anything on the planet they’re so beautiful!!” Jason grinned, nodding in conviction as he settled his hands in his pockets.
As Mateo blushed, Jason found himself wondering if he was just seeing things. Though the conversation moved on so quickly he found he couldn’t linger on that or else he was going to get left behind in his own chat. “Well of course not!! We aren’t allowed!” Giving a giggle as Mateo winked at him, his brightly colored fingernails flashing as he covered his mouth, his eyes slightly wide. As they both gently pulled their hands back, Jason grinned, nodding as Mateo spoke, “Well I’m not surprised! Accents are the best thing ever!” Jason couldn’t contain his enthusiasm in this comment, his hands clapping together like a small child's. Another blush crossed his cheeks as Mateo mentioned that he was the reason that his day had suddenly gotten so much better. “Why thank you mister Mateo!” He said appreciatively, feeling special. “My day was freaking boring until you showed up! But now I have you to do things with me!” A large cheshire cat grin appeared on Jason’s face as he realized that he had just made a new friend. Man he really had needed one of those. He had been feeling slightly lonely in the past couple weeks, and he felt almost elated that he had found someone that considered him a friend already.

the only thing mateo didn't like about being an angel was the whole being dead thing, but at least he had been given a second chance to run around and make friends and smile and be happy and all that fun stuff. and now he'd met jason so they could go roll around in the grass and party and fly around together! well, if jason was also an angel, then they could fly, but mateo was pretty sure jason was an angel. he looked angelic enough. he should be my angel.. mateo bit his lip, a half smirk covering his face before he giggled and released his lip, not wanting to hint too much to the devious thoughts running through his head. he didn't even know if jason liked other guys, but was hoping that he did, because having a boyfriend or even just a snuggle buddy right now would help him get over the fact that he'd lost bailey. he sighed, pouting a little but quickly shaking off the depressing thoughts. he could be sad when he was alone, not when he was around someone else who was just about as bouncy as he was himself. well he doesn't act straight... so.. maybe he's not.. maybe we can be friends... his own cheeks began to redden again, partially confused by the way he kept pondering over if jason was straight or not. most of the time, if mateo thought a guy was cute, he didn't care if they were straight or not. he would flirt regardless. but with jason he just really really wanted him to at least be bisexual.
"you know, jason, you're really quite adorable," he offered up, grinning as the other boy giggled and blushed even more. his fingers gently caressed jason's face, just a light little touch, tracing over his jawline and down his neck before pulling away. mateo's face turned slightly red and he smiled bashfully. he was starting to touch a little too much, but he couldn't help it. jason was just... too adorable, and he wanted to snuggle the other boy. ducking his head, mateo hooked his thumb into his pocket, his other hand reaching up to play with his necklace as he waited for the pink to leave his cheeks. he was enjoying this other guy's company perhaps a little too much. maybe it was just because he'd been alone for longer than usual and now he'd had this beautiful angel fall out of the sky into his lap, but mateo really just wanted to spend the whole day with jason. even if they were just picking flowers or chasing squirrels or something.
“me? i listen to anything really, except screamo screamo. i can handle a little screamo, but not full out high pitch squealing. low screaming is sexy though.” mateo looked back up, his cheek still faintly pink, grinning excitedly. "you might have liked the band i was in before! i was the screamer." a much too innocent smile accompanied his words, an eyebrow arching. “ooo screaming and growling is hoooott! i- really?! oh my god, you’re so multi talented. i might have to make you teach me how to play some instruments.” he laughed, shrugging and bowing as if he had just given some sort of performance, always the playful type. "i would love to teach you how to play some instruments. you can use mine whenever you like." another all too innocent smile as he giggled, his hand moving away from his necklace to bush a few strands of hair out of his face. "i've been told i'm a very good teacher."
“oh goodness, they totally are!! pshaw. yours are like, can’t even compare them to anything on the planet they’re so beautiful!! he bit his lip again, his hand covering his mouth as he giggled quietly, enjoying the compliment. as much as he loved giving compliments out to other people, mateo also liked receiving them. they made him feel good about himself and he figured if everyone in the world just gave out comments instead of hate, the world would b a much happier place to live in. “well of course not!! we aren’t allowed!” he tilted his head, blinking as he considered the response. "are you an angel?" he suddenly blurted out, not able to take the suspense with waiting anymore. “well i’m not surprised! accents are the best thing ever!” mateo grinned, nodding in agreement. he'd met some damn fine people with accents. and he was enjoying jason's 'american accent,' as well... or maybe he was just enjoying being around jason. watching as the other clapped his hands mateo couldn't help himself. he reached forward, gently taking one of jason's hands and smiling like a little kid. “why thank you mister mateo! my day was freaking boring until you showed up! but now i have you to do things with me!”
tugging gently on the hand he was holding and bouncing on his feet, mateo giggled happily and pointed toward a near by swing set. "let's go swing! can you jump off swings? i used to do that all the time, but i haven't in a while."
