MY JAW DROPPED DOWN, MY MIND STARTS SPINNING starts spinning around all over again -- * - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - It was a bit earlier than he usually woke up, but with Serenity wide awake there was no point in going back to sleep. Instead, the young father had decided to get himself dressed and take his daughter out to the store. Jim was still asleep when they left, and since his husband looked tired and way too cute to wake up Hayden had decided to just leave a note telling the older male where he had gone. Hopefully, it wouldn't take too long and they would be back before the tattoo covered male woke up. If anything bad happens, I have Charlie that I can call, too. And Jim would wake up the second his phone rang, so nothing bad will to me. Or Serenity. Nodding to himself as he finished dressing his daughter, Hayden smiled and cooed down at the beautiful little girl. "We won't be long, baby girl. Just gotta buy you some more diapers and some formula and maybe even an adorable little outfit if we find one!" he giggled, picking his daughter up and kissing her gently on the forehead, "We'll be back with Jimmy before you know it! Maybe we can buy him a surprise present or something. What do you think of that, hm?" In response, Serenity just waved her hands, wide blue eyes staring up at her father. Hayden felt his heart instantly melt, cradling his daughter close as he walked out of the house.
It wasn't a long drive to Walmart, and once he and his daughter were inside the eighteen year quickly cradled Serenity closer, grabbing one of the baskets from by the door before scurrying over to the baby aisle. Occasionally, Serenity would reach out toward some object, like a fuzzy pillow or some shiney toy, and each and every time Hayden would stop and allow the young child to place her hands curiously on whatever it was that had caught her attention. Sometimes, she would knock something down onto the floor, and before Hayden could even consider scolding her - which he never actually did - she would just look up at him with those pretty blue eyes, so innocent, and he just couldn't get mad at her. Instead, he would just giggle and lean down to pick whatever it was she had dropped off the floor, placing it back on the shelf before moving on, keeping her close and protected at all times. She was much too precious to even risk loosing and, like every father should have done, he did everything he could do to keep her warm, safe, and protected. "Come on, let's go get you those diapers!" he cooed, bouncing his daughter a little to make her giggle as he turned down another aisle, not noticing as Serenity reached out, managing to knock a small, plastic baby toy onto the floor.

k i s s m e o n t h e s i d e w a l kt a k e a w a y t h e p a i n b e c a u s e i s e e[ SPARKS FLY ]- - - - - - - - - - walmart. the place where you could literally buy everything and anything your heart desired at as most would say "a low price." clothes, food, kitchen supplies, baby stuff, video games ... she was pretty sure they even had dresses for special occasions here. (it was strange, considering most people would never buy a dress from walmart, but they had them any way) but courtney marie davis wasn't here for a dress, she was actually here to buy a game. her family was coming to visit for a while this weekend and she had to be prepared for when colby came walking in, expecting to be sitting there bored for the couple of hours they were visiting, and surprise him by handing him the latest wii game and controller. she really wasn't ready to be entertaining guests .. at least by most standards she wasn't. after her meet up with a supposed dead man, and the days she'd spent only going to class, and calling in sick from work -- which really meant sitting on her bed, listening to sad music, reading emily dickinson and watching romance movies like the notebook over and over while eating tubs of cherry garcia ice cream and chocolate icing -- you'd think she would have told her parents she was sick, and couldn't possibly see them in her current state. but she'd missed them, and her older siblings were coming, which meant that they all had missed her just as much. of course, colby would act as though he hadn't, but she suppossed that was just something sixteen year old boys did. she turned the corner through the clothing isle to get to the back of the store where the video games were. debit card in her pocket, the blonde made her way through the isles, stopping occasionally to look at things that caught her eye. after all, she had time to spare.
she was making her way through the baby isle, delicate smile on her lips as she looked at all the adorable little toys they'd come up with since she'd been a baby. she remebered how cute her mother used to say she'd been, when in reality, if courtney had to choose, she'd say her little brother was the cutest. she twirled a strand of hair around her finger. though she knew she was only eighteen, and still had her whole life ahead of her, and she was very young, she did want a baby someday. she wasn't sure with who -- or well, she had an idea who she would have liked it to be with and she knew fate had a mysterious way of doing things -- but she did want a little son or daughter to raise, and hold and call her own. from the time she was little, she'd wanted to be a mother. she could remeber when she was three how she'd treated colby as though he was her own. though their mother would always be the one her called "mom" there was definetly a special place there for courtney, considering she was the one who offered to pretty much do anything for him. you'll get there court, you're only eighteen and you haven't even started your career yet, in a couple of years .... she thought to herself, before sighing wistfully. she didn't want to run out and get herself pregnant any time soon, but she hoped that someday, when she was with the man she loved, that the two of them could get married, settle down, live in a big house with a white picket fence and a garden, and have a baby. a girl could dream, couldn't she?
"come on, let's go get you those diapers!" she heard someone coo beside her, before she smiled, looking to see a man and a little baby girl. she smiled. that was probably the cutest thing she'd ever seen. besides her own, she'd never seen a father so clearly dedicated to his child. most of the girls and boy's she'd grown up with around france had rich fathers, guys who owned big companies and wore suits all the time. when she'd visited their houses, their fathers were rarely around, and when they were, they were sitting in their offices, smoking cigars and talking with other men in suits and ties. she remebered one friend of her's hadn't even had a father, and she swore that was the saddest thing she'd ever see. she vaguley remebered that as her friend with pink hair, the very one that had never called her to say hello, or make plans. the same friend who she'd once claimed was going to be in her life for a long time, and when she got married -- to the man who she'd recently found out was one hundred percent NOT dead -- was going to be her maid of honor. she frowned. she also remebered that harmony just had a crappy life all around, she hated that. and she missed her friend. maybe when she her parents came, she'd ask them what happened to her .... her parents had known harmony, and though her mother had described her as a little strange, they'd also said that they liked her and thought she was a good friend to courtney. she hoped harmony was alive and well, and living with someone who she cared about who cared about her just as much. she also hoped she'd call, but that was beside the point.
she watched as the man went to turn a corner, and the baby reached out to grab onto something, dropping it to the floor. she giggled, walking forward toward the toy, easily picking it up, turning the corner after the man. "excuse me, i think she dropped this. i wasn't sure if it was your's or not, so i figured i'd give it to you anyway, just to be sure." she rambled, before looking at the adorable little girl in the mans arms. "she's absolutely adorable, by the way," she said with a smile.

MY JAW DROPPED DOWN, MY MIND STARTS SPINNING starts spinning around all over again -- * - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A year ago, Hayden wouldn't have believed any of this was possible. In fact, just a few months ago, he'd thought his life was over. Finished. But he didn't want to think about it, especially since he was out in public and had his precious baby daughter with him, and Serenity was the perfect reminded that his life right now was beautiful. Glancing down at the beautiful little angel in his arms, Hayden sighed, knowing that with Serenity and Jim and Charlie and Becka and all their other friends in their lives, it was all going to be okay. Now, where are those diapers... I don't like how they changed the store around, it's too confusing! Pouting cutely, the young father bounced his daughter a little more, humming to quietly to keep her entertained. She didn't really cry often, or make too much of a fuss, but Hayden still liked to keep her entertained. A bored baby was not a happy baby, and Hayden was determined to give his daughter the best and happiest childhood ever imaginable, nothing like the childhood he'd had. A suppressed memory threatening to come out and haunt him made the blonde teen shiver and he quickly pushed it away, taking a deep breath to calm himself. He was okay. Everything was fine right now, and there was nothing to worry about.
Hearing a giggle, Hayden tensed a little, turning his head slowly to look at a girl that looked to be about his age. Instantly, the eighteen year old started to blush, cuddling Serenity more against him as the angel hybrid cooed and babbled, waving her hands at this new face. "excuse me, i think she dropped this. i wasn't sure if it was yours or not, so i figured i'd give it to you anyway, just to be sure." As Serenity's eyes landed on the little toy, the baby girl babbled on happily, reaching toward it and pouting in protest when she couldn't reach. Blushing even more, but unable to stop himself from smiling, Hayden turned and carefully took the toy from the stranger, handing it to his daughter. "Um.. thanks. She probably knocked it off a self, but she likes it so much, I think I might have to buy it for her!" he giggled, watching as his daughter clung to the toy happily, looking up into the other girl's face with those beautiful, wide blue eyes. "she's absolutely adorable, by the way," Again, Hayden giggled, smiling brightly at the girl, not feeling at all threatened by her, though still a bit wary of the stranger. "Her name is Serenity, and I think she likes you."

] k i s s m e o n t h e s i d e w a l kt a k e a w a y t h e p a i n b e c a u s e i s e e[ SPARKS FLY ]- - - - - - - - - - Courtney had always thought father daughter moments were THE cutest things she'd ever witnessed. She wasn't sure if that was because she was and still is a daddy's girl or if it was something else. She shook her head. Okay, maybe she was sure that was why. She loved her father and even though he was strict sometimes he was still caring and fun, and the best daddy ever. She could only wish that the child she had got the same kind of dad as her own. Sweet, fun loving and nurturing. She supposed that's why she had such high standards for who she dated -- which was probably why she'd only dated two boys before, but that was beside the point. As a teenager she'd met Duncan and immediately thought he was a jerk. But after she'd seen the way he treated her as his girlfriend, his mother at home, and his sister anywhere she immediately known that he was not as "big and bad" as he tried to seem. He did have a heart. He was sweet and would probably make a great father. When she left however, she'd lost the boy who she'd doodled in her notebooks about. The guy she'd sworn was going to be her groom. And had to find a replacement ... And that was Lance. He was sweet and cute enough, he was bound to have good genes and he seemed to like her. But no matter how much she tried to fool herself Duncan was always the one. And now he was back ..... And if he'd let her, she'd like things to go back to how they were in New York .. Not that she didn't doubt he still loved her, but she meant perfect ... Besides the drama of her boyfriend being a bloodsucker and turning into Twilight.
She looked at the stranger in front of her. She should have been more careful about meeting random people. Especially since Duncan had told her how people could have been things that weren't exactly human. Things that were dangerous. But she didn't think this guy looked that dangerous. He looked harmless. He was actually blushing at her giggling. She smiled looking down at the baby girl who was waving her hands at her until the boy, who she assumed was her father, handed her the toy. Although ... He looked about her age ... And even though she didn't have much of a "gaydar" she could tell he was gay. She didn't see anything wrong with that but she wondered how he'd gotten a baby that looked like him ..... The turkey baster thing from glee couldn't really happen could it? "Um.. thanks. She probably knocked it off a shelf, but she likes it so much, I think I might have to buy it for her!" the boy said. Courtney smiled at him before looking down at the baby and waving. "Her name is Serenity, and I think she likes you." "Hi Serenity, that's such a pretty name. I'm Courtney."

MY JAW DROPPED DOWN, MY MIND STARTS SPINNING starts spinning around all over again -- * - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Even if he wasn't really a fan of strangers, or socializing without Jim being there to protect him if anything went wrong, Hayden had a feeling that this girl posed no threat to him or his daughter. She just seemed too nice and she looked young, so he wasn't really too worried about her suddenly growing a pair of fangs and attempting to steal his daughter from out of his arms. I'd like to see her try! His jaw clenched a little and he brought the blue-eyed baby a little closer to his body, relaxing as she buried her face against his hoodie, absently playing with the toy the stranger had given back to her. Serenity kind of acted like his sister had as a baby, at least from what he'd heard from his family, and she also acted a bit like him. Quiet at night, leaving plenty of time for him and Jim to, uh, have 'alone time,' and she was always so playful during the day, leaving more than enough time to go out as a family and just enjoy the day. Being a father was even more fun than he had expected and once Serenity was a little older, he and Jim had agreed on trying to have another. The thought made his stomach flip nervously, his face blushing again as he ducked his head a little, blond hair falling into his face to cover adorable blue eyes.
Before he'd met Jim, he never thought marrying a guy and having a kid was possible, but he figured good things came to those who waited, and he's waited eighteen long years to finally find somebody to love and share his life with. It was, for lack of better words, magical. Okay, no more late night Disney movies... he thought to himself, giggling as Serenity turned her eyes up at him, babbling happily and waving her hands at the stranger again, all wide eyed and innocent. It made his heart melt just to look at her, and he didn't want to look away from his daughter, but he knew looking around during a conversation was a tad bit rude so he bit his lip and timidly looked back over at the shorter girl. Their eyes met briefly and his blush intensified, spreading across his cheeks and down his neck, and it was more than a little obvious that he was a shy person. He smiled nervously, watching as the girl waved down at his daughter. "Hi Serenity, that's such a pretty name. I'm Courtney." "Oh yeah! I'm Hayden and, um.. this is my daughter.."

k i s s m e o n t h e s i d e w a l kt a k e a w a y t h e p a i n b e c a u s e i s e e[ SPARKS FLY ]- - - - - - - - - - as a teenager courtney wasn't a big fan of the twilight books. she'd read them, but thought they were poorly written, unlike her sister, who had been OBSESSED. so it was ironic that she was the one who ended up with a life quite like bella's. she wondered if she was allowed to tell people. of course she'd have to at some point. if she got married to duncan, she couldn't just not tell her and his parents, after all, her father was suppossed to walk her down the isle. her brother was suppossed to be there and come visit her before the wedding started. of course she also realized that both families probably freak out for obvious reasons. their "dead" son was standing before them saying he was going to get married, and that he was not a blood sucking vampire and their daughter was marrying a suppossed dead guy, someone who could potentially kill her on accident if he did one thing wrong -- although she knew he woudn't, but her father had always been wary of duncan and his "intentions" or whatever? hmm ... not exactly the most normal of conversations. but then again, she was positive nothing was going to go back to "normal" now. collette would probably be so jealous if she found out that duncan was a vampire, and he wasn't suppossed to be in love with courtney. she could see it now. she'd be sitting with her mouth open wide eyed for about an hour and then glare at courtney for the whole rest of the time the sisters were together. vampire's beat rich doctors in collette's view any day, but the real thing was nothing like the twilight interpretation. like vampire's didn't sparkle ... which was kind of obvious. much like the origional dracula they burned in the sun where as edward cullen sparkled. they did sleep, unlike edward, who instead of sleeping watched bella sleep which was both creepy and unrealistic ... she definetly didn't want anybody staring at her intensely while she slept .... maybe if a certain someone admired her, that would be okay, but the way edward had loomed over bella's bed all dark and stalker-like had been unattractive. not to mention the movie's were awful but that was beside the point. she shook herself out of her twilight related thoughts, hoping that the stranger didn't notice her slight moment of zoning out. at least she hand't heard any talking so it hadn't seemed like she wasn't listening to him or something.
she watched him look down at the little girl, and couldn't help but notice the look in his eyes, and smiled. that was so cute, how much he clearly loved her. she watched him look away from the little girl and look up and when their eyes met he looked away and blushed. she chuckled to herself. someone was a little shy. "Oh yeah! I'm Hayden and, um.. this is my daughter.." he said. "well, she looks a lot like you."

MY JAW DROPPED DOWN, MY MIND STARTS SPINNING starts spinning around all over again -- * - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - it was rare to see hayden out and about without his husband, it was a bit of a well known fact that he had anxiety over being separated from the angel, but it was very slowly getting easier to go places without the older man by his side. the eighteen year old still had a long way to go before he was completely 'healed' of his anxiety, he wasn't sure he ever really would be, but he didn't like being away from jim, anyway. jim was everything to him and he loved the other man with all of his heart and perhaps even more than that. he'd told jim once before that sometimes he felt like he was falling in love with him all over again. it didn't take much for jim to take his breath away. all it took was a smile, a look, a sweet little whisper in his ear. when he was with jim, everything was perfect, and he wanted to spend every second of every day with the angel because everything just seemed so perfect with jim around. and jim was also a great father. they both still had a few things to work on, but for first time parents, they were doing wonderfully. a lot better than his own father had done... but that wasn't something he liked thinking about. "well, she looks a lot like you." hayden giggled, pressing a gentle kiss to his daughter's cheek, smiling brightly as she squealed and reached a hand up to touch his face. her hands were so small. "she's a perfect little baby," he said softly, sighing gently before wrinkling his nose as he noticed the diapers he was looking for were located on the lowest shelf. "um, courtney? would you.. would you mind just grabbing a pack of those for me?"
